From Nancy on recent Beauty of Believing Tour stops...
Our first-ever Faithgirlz ‘Beauty of Believing’ tour event in Plymouth, Michigan, was the best thing EVER! 700 tween girls and moms—700!—came together for a whole morning of talking about girl politics and our changing bodies, doing crafts, and just hanging out. Moms got kits for starting Faithgirlz Clubs, and I got to say hi to just about every girl who was there. It was AMAZING!
In Kenosha and Columbia, what could be more precious than a room full of mini-women waving their hands to show that they, too, have known a ‘drama queen’ or felt the ‘green-eyed monster’ well up in them? I loved seeing their honesty, sensing how safe they felt in being real. It has been such a privilege to minister to tween girls and their moms at a time in their lives together when everything is changing and most of it is confusing and scary and teetering on teenage-ness. The response has been so authentic and so rewarding. Has to be a God-thing.
When I was standing in front of all those girls and their moms, I realized that every dream God had for me was coming true at that very moment. And you know what? God has a dream for you, too. People call it a ‘plan,’ but I think it's even more spectacular than Step One, Step Two. It's God dreaming up a career for you, and maybe a husband who will emerge from a boy who right now is acting like an absurd little creep, and maybe cute kids and far off places and adventures you yourself can't even imagine right now. And it isn't just the big stuff God's dreaming for you. It's every small moment that makes up the one-of-a-kind picture of your life."
